Subject: Warming up
Hey! Happy Saturday/Sunday to you. :) How was your week? How are things going in your downhill stretch these days?
Life here at home is moving along at a rapid pace and I am unsure of how to even attempt to slow things down for even just a minute. I swear it was just Monday and here it is already Saturday again. Both good and bad with it going fast right?
We had a busy week of getting the yard cleaned and fixed up for the bridal open house that took place today. Tyler was the busiest by far with the power washing of all the pavers but we all had a hand in making sure it was all done before today for sure. We had a site visit with the catering company to get an idea of what the layout of the yard will look like on wedding night, I had some party favors to make up for those attending today, and then it was the delivery of table and chairs and knowing that today was going to start bright and early to pull it all off. The problem though? I am still dealing with double ear infection. :/ I was back in the clinic yesterday for another round of antibiotics and am hoping this will finally do the trick. I am over it that is for dang sure. Plus...just not feeling well makes you not very nice. HA!
The shower today was good. It was mostly just ward members and a couple of Kaitlyn's friends. There was a good turnout and I am happy for her. Her car was loaded to the brim with gifts for their new house and she was giddy to take it home to show Eric. Aunt Kim, Grandma, and Robyn showed up family wise and it was good to see them. Aunt Kim had never been here before and she was taken back at how nice the backyard is. I forget that some people haven't seen it. I will send you some pictures of the setup so you get an idea of what the 'garden party' theme looked like.
The weather was sure nice today. High of like 83 and barely any wind. The sun felt so good! I even had a little bit of sweat happen which I will take instead of the cold chills. :) I hope to find some time out by the pool tomorrow after church but we will see. Something always seems to creep into the schedule that takes away from being able to do that. It is like the pool and sunshine just tempt me. :)
We head into the final stretch of school this next week and I am stoked to be just about done. We are so ready for Summer break here! I will go on a field trip with Brooklyn on Monday to the aquarium and then Tuesday is a full day of nail appointments. B will be back to a dermatologist appointment on Wednesday, Thursday is full nail day again, and then it is the end of one more week. I am telling you...time is flying. I am looking forward to next weekend already though because it is Memorial Day and I am hoping to spend all weekend by the pool and in the sunshine. I have contemplated inviting people over but I think I will just not do that. Instead, I will not host and I will just be selfish and enjoy the sunshine and backyard to myself. Hosting is good and all but it is exhausting and I never get the time I want for myself when I do that. There should be plenty of other warm days to invite people too so I think I will stick to the just me plan.
It was funny today to listen to people ask when you would be home and when I would say 16 days they were all genuinely shocked. They can't believe how fast it has gone too. I talked with Brooklynn Larsen all afternoon and Bryce has hit his 6 months and she says it feels like it has been forever. I laughed because it seems like both your and Kaitlyn's missions have literally flown by. I hope for her heart that time starts to move faster for her. Anyways, it was fun to see everyone outside of 'church' and to just have them here to celebrate Kaitlyn.
Tonight looks to be quiet around here. Tyler took the dogs to the cabin to have them gone for the day and he isn't back quite yet. Brooklyn is on the golf cart with a couple of friends and so I am here cleaning up the aftermath of being the hostess and taking it easy. I think I should figure out dinner probably too but I will wait to see what Tyler has in mind when he gets home. I am sure B will just grab a chicken sandwich or something from the gas station but maybe she will surprise me and be interested in eating at home too. It is always up in the air. I will catch the ballgame tonight here in a half hour or so and then I will call it a night. I hope to get a good nights sleep one of these days and to not feel like I am drowning in my head and ears. It is like I have a full swimming pool sloshing around and it is just not cool!
I sure love you. Looking forward to these next 2 weeks getting done and over with so you can be home and part of our day to days instead of just 1 day a week. I am stoked to see what is in store for you next and what choices you will make and what direction you will steer your future towards. It is like watching the wondering of Kaitlyn and her choices close to open the door to see what you are going to do. Funny how life just circles and connects on all fronts. I am proud of you and hope you are still working hard and learning new things each day. Have the best rest of your weekend and I pray that your Sunday will be filled with thoughts that will touch your heart and will help challenge you as you head into a new week. Talk to you soon.
Love you one million,
Mom
