We found this area and just wanted some pics haha Elder Kikwati and Me. He loves pictures and trying out model faces Me and Kikwati again I need to add a little "Mom" to this photo dump. I cannot help but see a very different Elder in these photos when it comes to Elder Garcia. He looks happy. You can see the light of happy glisten in his eyes and I could not be more happy! This transfer has clearly been a blessing and I will forever look back and thank Elder Kikwati for the good he has brought to Elder Garcia Keep up the good work, Mom

To: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Saturday, October 30, 2021 Subject: Happy day Hey! How are you? How is this new area and tell me ALL about this new companion. How long has he been out? Where is he from? Talk to me about your new area and your new apartment you are in. Do you have ami’s you are already working with that were handed off to you? Things here are good. I am sitting at Truist Park waiting for game 4 to start. Game time is 8:05 so just 3 minutes or so. It is pure chaos and it is electric and so fun. The weather is COLD!!! I grabbed my gloves and puffy coat as we left the house for the airport and really questioned if I needed it or not. Man am I so so glad I did!! I have leggings on under my jeans, 3 shirts, and my coat. It has been raining most of the day yesterday and today and maybe tomorrow for game time too. Trump is due at the game tonight too. We have watched the secret service do their thing from the hotel balcony and even now as we wait for th...

Phone Call Home: October 25, 2021

Before Brooklyn headed off to school October has not been my finest month when it comes to recording excerpts from our weekly calls and I am going to apologize again for none of that this week. I will add that the hat Elder Garcia is wearing is from a member/friend in Kpalime as his goodbye gift. Elder Garcia is anticipating new changes with a transfer coming up.  Keep doing all the good, Mom

From: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Monday, October 25, 2021 Subject: A birthday celebration, church opened again, I rode an elephant?!?! Transfers Bonjour tout le monde! Well it's been a minute so let me update you on what's been going on down here in Africa. Elder Obyea had his birthday on the 1st so we went and partied it up with some members in the ward. I learned that Africans are really into footwork dancing. Not so much anything else, so it's safe to say that I didn't really dance. But the worm saved me so that was fun.  Remember this thing called COVID? Yeah it came through Togo for about a month is all. The branch up here in Kpalimé was closed for a while but hey it's open again! Hopefully we can get more and more amis coming to church now. It was hard to do that when we could only meet in groups of 15 or less.  As of right now we are teaching a lot of people and they are awesome. Frère Stanley is about my age and he has one of the strin...

From: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Reply to Mom's email Date: Monday, October 25, 2021 y week was alright. We had one day where I called Elder Obeya out for using the phone for not missionary things when we needed to get things done. He got sooo mad and tried to throw it on me (like my dad does) but I simply told him that I asked to use ut and he said he would do the planning and he didn't. So he gave me the phone and pouted and then said he couldn't go out into the sector because he wouldn't feel the Spirit. So we stayed in.  Saturday night we got a call from the AP's and I'm getting transferred from Kpalimé. WHITEWASHED!! haha. Kinda sad but I think it will be good for me to go somewhere new with a new companion.  I love that you got to mess with him that's awesome. And a chill Fall Break is still Fall Break. I like it.  Sad that he's coming home. Maybe he will go back out. They will be in my prayers.  Kaitlyn is old. I got permission to a...

To: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Saturday, October 23, 2021 Subject: Series 3-2 Well, it’s Saturday night. The Braves are back home and we lead the series 3-2. We have 1 win to get in the next two days in order to make it to the World Series. Holy cow..anxiety is real! How was your week? Your new photos you added were fun to see. I got Tyler pretty good. He had just gotten home from taking Grayson hunting up to Bear Lake and he asked what I was doing. I told him you loaded pictures and that you rode an elephant. He was like ‘that is awesome. Seriously. I am so jealous.’ So then he came around and saw it and called me a butt hole. Seriously I was dying laughing!! Thanks for helping me mess with him. It was fun. We had Fall Break this week. Brooklyn wanted to go nowhere. Seriously. Nowhere. I would have been happy to leave town but we stayed home instead. And it was actually quite nice. She was busy with friends, I had some things to take care of, and Tyler ended ...

Ahhhh!!! And just like that Elder Garcia hits 4 months being on his mission today! I cannot believe how quickly time is going. I used to think that when the kids started Middle School time flew by but send them on a mission and time is something I cannot describe. I am grateful for it don't get me wrong but it is surreal that it has already been 4 months. Keep doing the work and keep being you. I love you to the moon and back, Mom
