Week 102 Email: 2 weeks and a Homecoming
From: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Monday, May 29, 2023 Subject: 2 weeks and a Homecoming Bonjour tout le monde!!! Woah, c'est la fin d'un chapitre de la vie... bizzare haha. Let's hop into these past few weeks shall we? Okay so I know that the email that I sent out last week wasn't for that week but this week I am going to try and make up for it by kinda focusing on some fun highlights that happened haha. 2 weeks ago we had our last interviews with President and Sister Proudfoot. They go home in July so this was the last time for everyone and it was a kind of sad but sweet experience too. I have really loved them as my mission leaders, thankfully I still have 1 more interview right before I head home with them haha. The day right after interviews Elder Okyere and I ended up getting lost in our sector and then we chose a direction to go in and well that just made us even more lost until we got to the beach. And well the beach isn't in our sect...

From: Mom To: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Friday, May 26, 2023 Subject: Earthquake? No..thunder Well, that was a fun wake up call on a Friday when I didn't have to be awake early. :/ Thunder shook the entire house and it was quickly followed by lightning you could hear through the glass, another huge thunder boom and then the clouds opened up and it was POURING! I seriously thought it was another earthquake. I tried to get back to sleep but my body was on anxious mode so no go. Oh well, Friday can get started even if I wasn't ready. How are YOU? How was your week? I am sorry about Monday. My ears are still bugging me but not near as bad and I had the Amazon delivery guy get a supplement that has been helping with my antibiotic so the side effects have not been as bad. Which is a good thing. I couldn't handle anymore of the barfing and knotted stomach! But if it has to be this med then I guess I will find a way to deal. From: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Monday, May 22, 2023 Bonjour tout le monde, I don't have much energy this week haha so I'll send you guys the email that I typed up last week :) So to kinda start off the week we went to our first district concil of the transfer and we kinda got to know everyone. When I say kinda I really mean that because the assistants (who are in our district) went to Togo this past week so they weren't there so we didn't "get to know the" too. One day though they will have the wonderous oportunity to do that for us haha. But this district is super fun! We are able to have a great time but at the same time we are inviting the Spirit to come and teach us so it's really cool. We sadly had a lot of rendez-vous fall through this week. We planned a whole lot and even called the people but when we showed up to their house or boutique they weren't there... so that led us to do some good old fashioned door to dorr co...

To: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Saturday, May 20, 2023 Subject: Warming up Hey! Happy Saturday/Sunday to you. :) How was your week? How are things going in your downhill stretch these days? Life here at home is moving along at a rapid pace and I am unsure of how to even attempt to slow things down for even just a minute. I swear it was just Monday and here it is already Saturday again. Both good and bad with it going fast right? We had a busy week of getting the yard cleaned and fixed up for the bridal open house that took place today. Tyler was the busiest by far with the power washing of all the pavers but we all had a hand in making sure it was all done before today for sure. We had a site visit with the catering company to get an idea of what the layout of the yard will look like on wedding night, I had some party favors to make up for those attending today, and then it was the delivery of table and chairs and knowing that today was going to start bright and early to...

From: Mom To: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Sunday, May 14, 2023 Subject: 20's?? Happy Sunday morning, It has been a week here so I apologize about my late email. I am however feeling good that I have some time to sit and actually get one typed up to you! These last few weeks have been a whirlwind of stuff and so I am sorry. :/ How was your week? How are things progressing in Africa? How are you feeling? Any better? How are things in the apartment and with your companion? Do you have a full Sunday meeting or do you just have a small group? So, after chatting with you on Monday I had had enough of my ear so I took myself to the Urgent Care and sure enough, double ear infection. Lame but I got the prescription drops and headed for home. I really quite frankly don't have time to deal with one ear bugging me but it turns out it was both of them. And this week has proven to be nothing more than irritation with them. I still don't feel 100% and the wind that we have right...

From: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Monday, May 8, 2023 Bonjour tout le monde! Wow another week has flown by just like that. But we had lots to do this week so let hop into it. The biggest highlight from this past week had to be Zone Conference. I think that it is always something really cool to be able to sit and just learn together with the rest of the missionaries in the zone. And the Cococodji Zone is the best zone of the entire mission so I count myself lucky to be able to hear from those other Elders and Sisters. We spent a lot of time focusing on how we can really help our amis, that we are teacing or just newly finding, come to understand the lessons and the gospel that we are here to teach. I really loved how the zone leaders focused on that principle by doing a cool demonstration with a sweater (send me an email if you want to know the details ;) I was also invited to testify this time around since I am at the end of my mission... already. Week 98 Email: Looooong time no see haha
From: Christian.garcia@missionary.org Date: Monday, May 1, 2023 Subject: Looooong time no see haha Bonjour famille et amis!!! These past few weeks have just like blurred together sooo sorry for not writing but I will try my best to cathc yo'al up on life here in Africa. So we were able to have interviews with President and Sister Proudfoot and it was kinda a new experience for me because I had never been to the mission office to do them before haha. But they were really good and President always has really good advice and Sister Proudfoot is always a good ear to listen. Elder Coulibaly ended up getting the final 2 teeth pulled out of his mouth so we were chilling without having to go to the doctor for the rest of the transfer. He swelled up a little bit and started wearing a mask in sector so there were a lot of weird looks that were being thrown our way but we were still able to get a lot of work done. I hope that your guys' Easter was great too!!! I know...
