Phone Call/Messaging Home: Monday, April 24, 2023

No phone call today but we did get a chance to message a little bit. Transfer news is in and Elder Garcia is staying where he is for his final six (6) weeks but he is getting a new companion. His new companion is Elder Okyere and he is from Ghana. Elder Garcia doesn't know too much about him but believe he has been out on the mission for about a year. 

Elder Garcia said that they had a meeting this morning with President Proudfoot about the dynamics in the apartment as well as the frustration of the current companionship with Elder Coulibaly. The Zone Leaders did an exchange with him this last week and they saw some of the same behaviors so they met with President Proudfoot and that started the whole thing today. Elder Garcia was able to meet one on one with him and share his feelings. It isn't that he is a bad missionary, he just needs to break habits and be shown what a real mission is spent doing. 

Elder Garcia also mentioned that the Assistants are moving to his apartment and he seems really excited about that. Elder Mukuna and Elder Morgan are the AP's and having the chance to spend more time with them is something Elder Garcia says he is stoked about. 

With everyone but Elder Garcia making a move for transfer day not much is going on in his world today. He is hoping to see the Elders from Bohicon which will then turn him into the barber I guess for the day. :) 

These next six (6) weeks are going to fly by. I am looking at my own calendar here at home and see so much that comes into play and things that we have going and things that I need to get going and I am already dreading the deadline days. I am sure that Elder Garcia has a full plate and schedule as well, at least that is what I am hoping. I am hopeful that this final transfer is one that has him working from sun up until sun down and that he can put 110% of his effort into being in Africa and being a set apart missionary for the Lord. I am hopeful that he will be able to turn to and rely on the Lord for all the things in his days as he goes out and finds those who are searching and begging for the Gospel. There is still much work to be done. I know and FEEL this.
