Subject: La Mutation...ca reste trois :'(

Bonjour tout le monde!! It seriously feels like I wrote one of these just the other days I honestly don't know how come time decided to speed up here at the end. I don't like it but you have to accept it right? This week was a week of fun and sad.

So to start off last Monday we did a nice lil district activity. It wasn't a big activity though where we went and did this big thingm it was really just lil haha. The whole district got together and we put some money in for food and then Elder Trenum and I went and took it to a member and then proceeded to help them make it. I am going to say this now but I am going to miss some foods here for sure, that ignam peelé with arachides was way too good for what it should've been haha. Because I had gotten sick I sadly didn't get to play soccer but I was able to watch and be a "ref" of sorts. They really just looked at me to ask if the ball went in the front or side of the goal. And the one time that I mattered I was talking to a maker so I didn't see haha.

Tuesday was yet another final district council but this time is felt different. Elder Trenum goes home today and so it felt different because we knew that there were going to be changes for sure in his place. The spirit was amazing though and there was such a calm feeling but also the feeling of "get yourself together man. You don't got long left yourself" so that was a scary realisation. We took the taxi ride up to Dassa after with Elders Trenum and Ilunga to do our exchanges with them. I got to work with Elder Trenum and I tried so hard to soak up literally EVERYTHING that man was putting down as council. We ended up finding this AMAZING family too that is just tucked away off to the side of the road. I honestly had no idea that anyone lived there but it was great to go and meet them.

On Wednesday we ended our exchange with a bang and went and taught this lady that we had contacted a few weeks before (Elder Kyungu and I). She called us and was like "why didn't you come back?" And we were like "uhhhh..." and then she was like "well don't just stand there. Come on let's go learn about God." So then we left and had an awesome lesson with her. That took most of the morning because we had also gotten stood up by a few people. That afternoon right before he left Elder Trenum and I had a sit down and we just talked about everything. That man has been in my mission from day 1. I can still remember the nervousness of walking into the senior couples house in August of '21 not really sure about Africa. And he just sits down and tells me about the oven he bought for 20,000 cfa haha. We stayed good friends after that 😂 But then they left and Elder Kyungu and I went to our coordination meeting with the group leader where we talked a lot about the next phase of baptisms and amis that are progressing and everything. This sector is turning into such an amazing sector and I absolutely love it!!! That night ended with a family home evening at Brother Noël's house. And yes we did a fhe with Brother Christmas in January haha.

Thursday Elder Kyungu wasn't feeling well so we got told to stay where we were and j called a lot of people. It's safe to say that I am really happy that I don't have to do any fb contacting or technology work really. That's really boring haha.

Friday was sad. Another last planning session that was full of laughs and reminiscing on the transfer. We spent the rest of the day put in sector visiting members and new and old amis.

Saturday... transfer news. Elder Kyungu is headed off to Togo and I will be staying is Dassa another transfer! My new comp will be Elder Kayembe. I don't know much about him but I know that he's here to work and we are going to have an absolute blast together. We spent the day saying bye to people as well as Elder Kyungu had gotten his transfer news Friday night from President himself.

Sunday was a hard day. Going to church and seeing Elder Kyungu say goodbye hit the feels. It got me thinking a lot about my own mission and how little amount of time there is that is left. You already know that these next 3 transfers are going to be the absolute best that this mission has ever seen!! Sunday night we headed to Bohicon for the transfer, because we are so far from everyone else, and I got to say goodbye to Elder Trenum for reals haha. We sent him off with a fire of his stuff, just like at the end of school, and then said eyzandeee haha.

Thanks y'all for tuning in for another email this week. Time flies but so do birds so I guess it's inevitable haha.

Much love,
Elder Garcia
