Well...it has happened. Technology at its finest. Today we were unable to actually connect a call in order to talk face to face. I am so glad I had a quick thought to capture this image though! We take so for granted all the things we use on a daily basis and then we are faced with wanting to talk to Elder Garcia and actually see his face only to find out that something we do all day every day just isn't going to actually happen.

We chatted over the Messenger and some of the highlights are:

- Today was a day of cleaning and studying. His companion had the phone for a bit so he took advantage of some extra studying.

I am going to copy and paste the stuff Elder Garcia sent. That way it will be his words and not me trying to put them all into something that might not make sense. HA!

- Let's see, the drives are sooooo long. Haha. Like from here to the office is over 4 hours. We left Dassa at 2pm on Tuesday and then did a little like break in Bohicon which is 1 ½ hours kinda south from here. We waited for my comp to get his pants he gave to a tailor there. We were there for maybe 20-25 minutes? And then we left again and didn't get to where we were headed which is a sector called Arconville until 7pm

But Zone Conference was really good. President talked a lot about hope and Sister Proudfoot talked about Vision and I kinda combined the 2 together and have been thinking a lot about what I want to do here in the next 5 months and then after the mission kinda thing. Its been good but sad too because I'm realising just how little time there is left here and how fast it will go by

We didn't have interviews because President forgot but it's okay because we have them scheduled for this Saturday when they are coming to Dassa. That's going to be interesting because they will probably come out to sector with us, and because of that I am really apprehensive because he knows soooo much. Its kinda like Tyler, it's sometimes scary to talk to him about the gospel because of how much he knows. But I am looking forward to getting some feedback if we do go out because I want to be as effective as possible in helping these people so

But then we ended up staying the night Wednesday as well and didn't get back until 1pm on Thursday. Then we had a hot second break and went out to sector and got DENIED!!! But we ended up going and teaching a friend who can progress if she really follows what her mouth is saying about faith

Friday was just a normal Friday nothing to special. Saturday morning we walked quite a bit to a new converts house and idk why but he hasn't been very active recently in like church in coming and following up with rendez-vous we have with him. We just read the Book of Mormon with him and then left. We went to the church building at 3 and spent 1½ hours cleaning it with the other 2 new converts. And then went out to sector and didn't really have much, sadly

Sunday was good I guess. My companion didn't really have energy to do anything in the morning so he sat on the phone until 30minutes to go and then he started getting ready and that took him about an hour so we left at 9 instead of being at church at 9. We had one of President's counselors there, and he's a cool guy. We had 2 friends, who we are hoping to get dates fixed soon with them, at church as well. And then we spent the rest of the day contacting in a new area and also teaching a few new people as well as the 2 that came to church

We 'talked' about how traveling can sometimes get in the way of missionary work and Elder Garcia said "
Trust and patience are 2 great lessons the Lord has loved teaching me here hahah"

I am missing being able to see Elder Garcia's face but I am still grateful for the small moments we have to be able to message back and forth and sort of catch up. I keep reminding myself that in a short window of time he will be home and we will have the ability to text or call whenever we want. :) I can hold on for that much longer.

Have the best week. I love you for forever,
Mom
