Subject: 2 weeks and RAIN
Bonjour tout le monde! So I apologise for last week. I didn't mean to not send an email, the day just went by quicker. But that being said this week you get the past 2 weeks compiled into one! Kinda great huh?
I
got up to Tabligbo! It's another village but thus time it's an actual
village. Kpalimé doesn't really count anymore because its got paved
roads like crazy and stuff so it's just Tabligbo.
I
got a new comp who's also from the Congo. Specifically Kinshasa.
There's a ton of Congolese in this mission so it's not really surprising
haha. His name is Elder Ibanda and he's pretty chillin all honesty. The
past 2 weeks have been vibes.
I'm
in another 4 man apartment but there's no American so it's me and 3
other Africans who speak English. So that's awesome! I get to work on my
French even more now!!! I'm also in the same apartment as Elder
Mulamingu, he was my comp like 6 months ago in Sanguera. Overall this
apartment is a vibe.
Tabligbo
is still pretty new to the church so it's a group of people because how
little members there are. But that means that there's a lot of people
who just need to hear us! So we've been going out and talking to lots of
people everyday. We get back to the apartment and I'm seriously
exhausted all the time haha. Sleeping has seriously become my best
friend from 10:30pm until 6am haha.
General
Conference was a very special experience this time around for me. It
was the first time that most of the people here to have the opportunity
to listen to the prophet of God. The Spirit was very strong and everyone
here loved it. We sadly didn't have many amis that were there to listen
but we were able to share some stuff with them in this past weeks
lessons so that they could still hear the words of conference.
There
has also been lots of rain here recently. I was told that this is a
sector where I wasn't going to have to worry about that a whole lot but
everyone was wrong haha. There's has been maybe 2 or 3 days theae past 2
weeks when it hasn't rained. It's safe to say there's been a lot.
This
past week Elder Ibanda and I worked and worked and worked and we were
not only able to find new people but they came to church yesterday! Now
that might not seem like something weird but yesterday all day long it
absolutely POURED rain to the point where in front of the church was
flooded... and they still came! Miracles are the tender mercies of the
Lord for real.
A funny
story to go along with our amis coming to church was that when we were
teaching them they had said "no matter what kind of weather, rain or
snow or anything we will come to church this Sunday." We all laughed
when she said rain and snow because it had been hotter throughout the
week with little bits of rain at night to cool off. But then when Sunday
came and poured we were all like "oh..." but I know that's just the
Lord testing them and I know that He does that because He loves us. The
Lord won't put anything in pur path that we can't handle. He wants us to
succeed, even with the little bumps of life along the way. I know you
can do it and I know that the Lord will be there to help us.
Thanks for reading this email! Sorry I didn't send one out last week, again. I am still going to try each week though.
I'm able to read stuff throwout the week and respond on Mondays so feel free to send me an email y'all!
Much love,
Elder Garcia
Sorry... no pics from the past few weeks
