Subject: October is almost gone
Hey Elder Garcia!
How are you today? How
is life in the mission world this week? Were you able to have some
baptisms today (Sunday)? How are the rest of the ami's doing? You had
interviews this week too yeah? Anything exciting there? I am also
curious to know how the creation of a branch takes place. Is that during
church on Sunday? Is it something that President Proudfoot takes care
of before church? All questions going on in my brain. :)
It
has been a week here. Fall Break so no school. Tyler was hunting and so
B and I got to it in her room. I forget how much I actually hate
painting. The prep work is a nightmare. I hate filling in holes, waiting
for it to dry, sanding it, cleaning up the super fine dust, and the
dreaded taping of a room....ugh. Anyways, it was fine and we got it all
done and it looks great. She got her bed where she wants it (not in the
center of her room anymore), we found a new nightstand cabinet thing,
she picked out a new egg chair, and now we just have to wait for Tyler
to help us with some shelving because they will require more know how
than I want to pretend to have. Oh, and we need to get her LED lights
put up. We had to order new ones after we had to take her old ones down
so hopefully these will go all the way around her room instead of just
on one wall. Fingers crossed. Maybe we will do that tonight...we will
see.
The weather was crappy cold all week
so not much golf cart riding but that wasn't too terrible if you ask me.
I loved having Brooklyn home to hang with. She also got pulled over by
the dreaded Community Service lady but that didn't stop her from getting
back on the golf cart when weather allowed. Brooklyn went with the
young men to the haunted house that the Maynards do and had fun and then
even made it to the Riddle party last night. Tyler and I didn't go. Not
a chance I was going to be the friend who they continually crap on and
then show up and pretend like I give a crap about any of them. She said
it wasn't all that great and pretty boring to be honest. I imagine it
was mostly "don't you just love my new house" crap. Glad to have missed
that one.
Tyler froze while hunting and
was frustrated when he got home that there aren't really great buck
deers to shoot at. All the time he puts in and the work he puts in to
not find something big would be annoying if you ask me. He says he is
getting to a point where he might just start to look at hunting guides
and see if that is something to consider. Because of the lack of good
deer, the drive and love of hunting isn't quite there like it normally
has been. It is hard to see. He left today to go and hunt tomorrow one
last time and I sure hope my prayers are heard.
Kaitlyn
finally made it home from Texas after a major fiasco of the airlines.
She learned the hard way which airlines not to travel on and was glad to
be in Utah. She has been busy getting her classes lined up for next
semester and looking for a new job. She came up today so we could go to
lunch and do a little shopping for her birthday and then she headed
home. 21 is the last big birthday and I realize that from here on out it
is a day to celebrate but the celebration just looks different. She
will be up tomorrow to carve pumpkins and have dinner so we will do a
little more celebratin then. Plus Tyler will be home too so that will be
goo.
I had a ton of my nail stuff that I
ordered show up and it has officially taken over the office. I have
stuff literally everywhere. I am mroe than intimidated and slightly
overwhelmed but I am determined dang it to make it happen. Tyler was
such a great sport and let me work on his cuticles last night while we
watched game 1 of the World Series (the Phillies took game 1 over the
Astros btw). Just getting familiar with the efile and the different bits
that get used plus making sure you don't break down the natural nail
that much to cause damage. All of it makes my brain crazy. I think
really when I get the product on (gel or acrylic) I will be fine with
the polish and design part but it's the product part that scares me to
death! UGH.
Halloween is here on Monday
and then it is madness into the holiday season. We are going to go to
Mexico for Thanksgiving and then the cabin for Christmas and I can't
wait. I don't want to do any decorating as of right now for any of it
but hopefully by the time it gets here things will have changed. We will
see right? It all just seems so overwhelming.
Other
than that, life has been moving on one day at a time. The time seems to
be flying by most days and I cannot believe when I see another month go
away. I am not ready for 2023 and I am so ready for 2023 at the same
time! Double edged sword all the way around. :) I sure love you and am
excited to hear what you have been up to this week and how things worked
out. I am excited to hear how your new ami's (the teenage girls) have
been progressing and if you were able to get baptisms done as well. I am
STOKED to hear about the creation of a branch too! Seriously just so
rad.
Keep up all you are doing. Remember
that hard work pays off and that you are there for a reason. Keep
smiling. I love you for forever.
