Subject: Back to school week
Well…it’s here. And we are not excited about it one but. School will
officially start again on Thursday which means this has been a mast week
of fun and a weekend to cram it all in.
We started the week with Teeter getting spayed. She did ok but the
recovery has proven difficult. Her wound won’t shut and so it is still
leaking. The vet keeps telling me to keep her ‘still’ and inactive but
she is a puppy and it’s hard to keep her low key. They don’t want her
running or jumping and she does all of those. It’s hard. I imagine I
will be back at the vet tomorrow to see if we can do anything. I feel so
bad for her.
Kaitlyn had a phone interview this week with the eye doctor and she has
another one with Granger Medical on Monday. She also figured out what
she needs to do to register at SLCC for school that starts on the 23rd.
She is full on adulting. She met up with Nate Duvall this week with his
fiancé too. I think it is crazy he is getting married. I didn’t think he
would be one to settle down quickly but Kaitlyn says he seems happy and
that is all that matters in the end.
Brooklyn has tried to fill in as much as she can this week. She has
spent lots of time on the golf cart and friends. She had Jadas birthday
party on Thursday and then we drove up to get Dalin (tyler’s cousins son
who came to powell with us) and he has been here all weekend. They
spent Friday night hanging and then yesterday she had a pool party with
the teenagers from Powell plus Damon Riddle. (
)
Damon thinks he is pretty cool but is super unsure of how to be around
me and Tyler. I don’t care if I don’t see him around anymore. Still
can’t stand the kid. Brooklyn has had a great weekend and I am so glad.
Yesterday was wild too. It was about 8:30am and I had just come inside
from taking garbage out, Kaitlyn had just gone downstairs, B was asleep,
and Tyler was in our bathroom. I closed the door and there was this
rattle of windows and the house that I was like holy crap! I stepped
back outside and I could feel the rumble carry northward. Anyways, I got
on and it didn’t say anything about Camp Williams or Tooele Depot doing
any training so I just shrugged it off. Well…about 15 minutes later we
had Camp Williams fire trucks in the front yard and the firefighters
putting on wild land gear and heading up the trail. I got on the KSL and
it finally reported that there was a meteor that broke the atmospheric
pressure and broke up and landed up north near Pineview Reservoir! The
boom I heard and shake I felt was a sonic boom after effect of that! Can
you believe that?!? Like literally it fell out of space!! To say we are
living in wild times is an understatement.
Today we have Dallin’s family coming for dinner and to swim since they
are coming to pick him up. We are doing tri-tip, cheesy potatoes, salad,
and the chocolate pudding layered dessert thing. I think, even though
she has loved having him here, B is ready to just be in her own space
alone and not having to entertain.
This next week is full but it will be nice to get back into routine and
schedules again. Kaitlyn has a full Monday with an interview and a phone
call with a counselor at the college, I’ve got training with Teeter
again and then B starts school. Tyler will head out hunting at the end
of the week too. I can’t believe it is already that time of year.
I hope your week has been good and that you can see some productivity in
your efforts. I wonder if you have heard anything on transfer news and
if anything is changing for you? I wonder about the amis you are working
with and what their progress looks like. I wonder a lot about your
mission. I don’t know much when it comes down to it as a whole. Mostly I
think I know about what you are eating!
I hope life is happy and I hope you are taking opportunities to
strengthen your relationship with your Heavenly Father and allowing Him
to help your testimony to grow. I hope you are able to recognize the
lessons being taught to you and that you are learning the things that
will help you in the years ahead of you. I hope you’ve been able to find
ways to love and serve your companion and to help him to understand his
worth and value as a missionary and that you’ve left a small imprint on
his heart during your time together.
Keep working hard. I have you in my heart and prayers always. I love you.
