Subject: 4th of July
Is it so crazy that it is 1, July and 2, the weekend of the 4th
already? I swear time is flying by. We were on our way up to the cabin
yesterday and Brooklyn and I were talking about how this time last year
you were getting ready to go to Africa and we were all talking about how
this time next year (2022) Kaitlyn would almost be home. Now here we
are!
So...how are you? How was your week?
Have you heard anything transfer wise? Do you know what is in store for
you next? How did your work go with finding new ami's this week? Did you
end up having a baptism with the interviews you had this week?
Things
here are good. We spent the week dealing with wind, rain, and a backed
up pool drain so the lower deck was flooded. Thankfully we were home
though and Tyler was able to get the opening a little bigger to
accommodate the amount of water that has been coming down. We have a ton
of clean up still to do but for now it is one day at a time because we
don't know what kind of weather is still due to show up.
Brooklyn
had volleyball but just 2 days this week so she has spent a lot of time
with friends. The 2nd phase of mountain view village opened up so she
was down there with some friends watching the new Minions movie at the
new Cinemark. We watched fireworks (I will send you my video I have in
the facebook message), Teeter got scared and it was sad, and we have
been cleaning house getting things ready for when Katilyn gets home. Not
like crazy clean but like get my cookie crap off counters and stuff
like that. Stuff we would normally do really. :)
We
headed up to cabin yesterday and will be here until Tuesday morning.
The rodeo is Monday at 8pm and we will stay for fireworks. Rather than
drive home, we will have a good nights sleep and then head home.
Brooklyn has plans already with friends again and to get some laundry
done so just back to normal routine and schedule with life around here.
Cotton
is flying around like crazy here and we are all feeling the effects of
that. Tyler has been working out back with the power washer getting
stuff sprayed and cleaned. It is always crazy how much dust and dirt can
build up in a short amount of time. He mowed the lawn and tonight we
will have his parents, his sister Robyn and her kids, and Grandma and
Cowboy up for dinner. I was SHOCKED when Grandma said they would come!
Tyler will do a tri-tip, his sister is bringing funeral potatoes, I have
a salad, and I made my chocolate cake/pudding trifle thing for dessert.
Nice to have this spot. I love it a whole lot and count blessings in
life because of the ability to be able to have the means to have
purchased it. The river is low enough we could walk across it again,
Teeter loves the coolness of the grass under her belly, and I will also
send you a fun video of her playing in mud. Not fun really...super
frustrating but it was cute I guess while it was playing out in front of
us. Tyler was planting new bushes up here and he had the water on them.
Well, there was a mud puddle and she was loving every second of madness
that she had while playing in it. I went for a walk this morning with
her and she only lasted about a mile in. Tyler came and rescued her in
the Ranger and I kept on. I had new shoes on and what a mistake that
was! I have the biggest blister on my heel. It isn't a water one either,
it is a huge one that has blood just waiting to ooze out. It didn't
really start to hurt until I was almost back but still super annoying.
Especially since I have no flip flops here. :/ I may have to run into
Park City this afternoon to remedy that because there is no way I am
getting a shoe with a heel on anytime soon. Note to self...don't wear
new shoes on a 5 mile walk next time.
Other
than that, all seems to be well enough here. We keep on moving on and
each day seems to keep moving by that much faster. I still cannot
believe it is July already. Before we know it we will be heading back to
school and it will be the holidays. I don't know if I should be glad
things move so fast or if I should try and slow things down to be able
to relish in moments a little more? Definitely a double edged sword.
I
hope you have a great week and I hope that the plans in place for this
next transfer will be good and you will be able to learn from whatever
is in store for you next. I hope you continue to rely on the Lord in all
things and I pray you are able to feel His guidance throughout your
days. Never forget He is there and always at the ready for anything you
need. He is anxiously waiting for you to come to Him in order to help
make the time on your mission all He needs it to be. I hope you know of
our love and support and can feel that as we talk about you and keep you
in our prayers always.
I love you to the moon and back,
Mom
