Subject: Feels like Summer
Good morning
How are you? How are you feeling? How’s life in Africa treating you? How
is your companion and how is your District doing? What are some of the
key moments you experienced the hand of the Lord in your life this week?
Life here is good. It has been absolutely beautiful weather and we have
all enjoyed the pool and just being out and doing. Brooklyn is going to
be so dark before the end of the month and she continues to add to her
color each day. She stays constantly on the go between having friends
here and having friends’ houses to go to. She really is living her best
life.
We
are officially one week down on volleyball camp at the High School. She
had a great time and loved going. She looked forward to going every day
and I never had to remind her to get ready or anything. I’m really
proud of her for trying something new and for sticking with it. She is
already looking forward to what this next week will bring.
Tyler has stayed busy by going up and mowing the lawn at the cabin, he
got the upper deck all power washed, he is working on getting the front
walk way pavers cleaned so he can get them sealed, always managing some
work with the pool, and making sure all of us here are happy and have
anything our hearts can desire or dream up. He has had a few changes to
go fishing this last week and it seemed like they were good outings with
fish biting. I’m glad he takes time for himself.
I spent my week getting things ready to hand off to the new RS Pres that
is being called tomorrow. It’s Kim White. You don’t realize how much
you have going until you have to hand it to someone else and hope it all
makes sense. Part of me is so done that I don’t care if it did but the
OCD in me worried so I gathered it all and hopefully handed it off to
her so she can go in from the beginning not worried or stressed.
I
have had a huge to do list that I started like 8 weeks ago and just
haven’t had the motivation to even look at it to try and tackle one or
two things but throughout the week I finally committed to a couple and I
will hopefully keep trudging along with some more.
I started virtual dog training with Teeter this week. It’s wild what
Covid has created. I have essentially a FaceTime call with a trainer who
is in New Mexico and we work on things. Teeter is super smart and she
loves treats enough that she is super receptive. It’s 30 minutes one
time a week. As long as she is still progressing and learning new things
I will stick with it. I love that it’s done in our house and in a spot
she feels safe in without other dogs distracting her or even a different
smell from the trainer. She really is the sweetest little thing. I’m
afraid Tyler is slightly allergic to her though. His eyes get all itchy
and burn some when he is with her or when he lets her snuggle in next to
him. I ordered some stuff that is supposed to help but we will see.
We are going to go to Moab next weekend. I guess Tyler doesn’t want to
have his kids for Father’s Day around so we will take the rzr and let B
cruise the rocks and have a good time. It’s going to be super hot but
it’s what he wants to do so we will go get if done. I am sure we will
all be glad we did when it’s over you know? Plus it will be Teeters
first big adventure.
Tyler
keeps telling me to start a social media page for her. He is sure that
she is pretty enough and cute enough that she could get lots of
followers and we could start making money. I love it but I sure don’t
want to try and stay up on a social media account for a dog.
I don’t know if you have heard yet but Parker is home. He came home on
Thursday because he has a slipped disc in his back that needs medical
attention. His homecoming is tomorrow so we will go to that and listen
to what he has to share about his time in Alabama. His Mom said he was
struggling at first to come home a couple months early but he
understands it isn’t because he quit and is ok with it now. I’m excited
to hear from him and to see him. That just means a domino effect of
everyone following. I’m ready for everyone to be back home and just
doing life here.
I hope you’ve had a good week and that you have had answers to prayers
and thoughts. I hope you’ve learned from your companion as well as those
Elders in your District and Zone as well. I hope you’ve been able to
see tender mercies each day and that you can feel the love from us here
at home as well. Have the best rest of your weekend and a great Sunday.
I love you to the moon and back,
Mom
