Subject: Chicken wings and Zone Conference
Hey y'all and Woezon to another weekly email from Elder Garcia! I hope that you enjoy.
P.S. Thank you all for the birthday wishes! They definately made my Wednesday better!
Monday
last week we had a stake activity that all of the missionaries from the
Tokoin Stake were required to go to. So hence why I didn't write an
email. But it was great nonetheless. It did rain all Monday too so that
was a blast and it made it so that this week was a little bit colder
than it has been.
Tuesday
my companion (Elder Mulamingu) and I went out to sector all day and it
was pretty great. We were able to find a lot of new people and we were
able to make every singe rendez-vous also! My companion is seriously so
cool, and he likes to work really really hard so we walk really fast. At
least for me it's fast. He's a lot taller than me so it's his normal
pace haha. We also went to this elite restaurant and I got legit chicken
wings with some nice spicy bbq sauce for lunch... I'll put a pic down
below.
Wednesday was
another great day. We had some rendez-vous that got cancelled but that's
okay because we were able to reschedule them and because we had some
free time we got to cal lots of people that hadn't been taught or months
to see if they were still interested. We fixed a lot of lessons for
this coming week so I am pretty hopeful that this week will be good as
well.
Thursday my
companion and I did our weekly planning because this week we had Zone
Conference. We talked about a lot of how we could find more amis and
find better people to talk to also. Like I said before I have some hopes
for this week haha. When we got out to sector, like normal, there
wasn't much to do. Thursdays here are pretty dead but it just makes some
time for contacting new peope too. So that's what we did.
Friday
we had Zone Conference and I seriously love President Proudfoot and
Soeur Proudfoot!! We talked a lot about how as missionaries and people
in general if we do something so many times we jsut ecome robotic with
it. And then we had some roleplays of fixing how we were teaching and
focusing on the main parts of what it is that we are here to teach. And
then after Zone Conference we were able to go and teach people and apply
what we learned and I feel like because of that our amis that we taught
understood what is it that we taught a lot more.
Saturday
we got a lot of gray points sent over to us. (For those that don't
understand the gray points in a mission they are people that were taught
at one point but for some reason or another they got put as a not
interested person) We called a lot of them, or those that had numbers
and either got told off or got told that we could come by this week. We
also went and visited lots of new members and it was great to see that
they were still interested and ready to learn. The missionaries that
were here before seriously prepared them to be converted.
Sunday
was a great day! We had so many people come to church this past week
and it was cool to see new amis there too. And they told us that they
would be comeing back this next week too! So, we hopeful. We got rained
out for a second so we chilled under cover for a while, but when we went
out and taught we found another new ami and taught an ami who comes to
church every week but isn't always free.
This
week I wanted to talk about some thing that I learned from my mission
president. A lot of times we overcomplicate things and then we stress
out and basically make a problem worse than it actually is. But there's
no need for that! Our Savoir went below everything and because of Him we
have someone that knows what we're going through. So this week I am
inviting you guys to turn to Him when something doesn't go exactly the
way that you want it to. Instead of making it biger than it is think
about the positives and turn to Christ and our Heavenly father. There is
a plan for each of us and I know that it is the plan of God.
I
love you all and I hope you have a great week this week!! And that you
were able to understand this email... my brain feels kinda fried haha
