Subject: Welcome to Atlantis, the Flooded City
Bonjour bonjour tout le monde!! J'espère que vous allez bien! This week was a week full of rain and water and puddles and so really nice weather actually haha. I will definitely never forget the last week of the transfer with my son haha. Let's get into it...
Tuesday
we had a great final district council and Elder Meline and I got to
teach in it. His French is seriously so much better than mine was at the
end of my training. He's also really confident so that makes it better
when teaching. He was definitely the best son I could ask for.
Wednesday
we tried to find and find and find. We basically jsut went and talked
with everyone we knew and everyone we could find. It was a great
exercise of the language.
Thursday
we did an exchange with Elder Luna and Elder Ipatutele. Elder Lunda was
in Doumassesse when I was in Kpalime the first time so we know each
other decently because I always went and stayed with them when it was
needed to come to Lomé. And we got to work together. I got proposed to
by a 33 year old woman and had to politely decline, Elder Lunda was
laughing pretty hard because I kept trying to ignore she said anything
and just teach her. That didn't work so I had to say no. She still came
to church though so that's a plus!
Friday
was pretty normal for the most part. We went and found and talked to
the members and new amis. I also got a call from President Proudfoot
saying that I would be leaving tomorrow (Tuesday) and going to a new
sector called Sanguera (Zan-ger-a)
Because
we found out that I was leaving Saturday was a day of goodbyes and
promises of making sure the new missionaries know to come by and teach
amis
Sunday was great but
awful at the same time. If I thought saying goodbye the first time was
hard then the second time was even harder. Tears were shed and hugs were
given to all who were guys. And then we went and had 2 mangez-vous with
Sœur Valérie and earlier family and then Sœur Herberta and Sœur Gracia.
More tears were shed and when we got back to the apartment I was pretty
bummed out but that's the mission. The work still goes forward no
matter what.
This week
Elder Meline and I talked about Diligence and I think that something
that we can forget sometimes as members of the church is that even after
we are baptised and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost we aren't
finished. There's still the persevering to the end part. I invite you
all this week to reflect on what you can do to continue to preserver to
the end.
Je vous aime beaucoup! Merci d'avoir lu un autre e-mail!!
~Elder Garcia
