Subject: The Will of God + The Words of God

Bonjour mes chers frères, sœurs, et famille. Comment allez-vous? Woezon to another weekly email from Elder Garcia. I hope you enjoy

Tuesday we had a district council and we got to talk about the letter that we received from President Proudfoot. He sent us a talk given by Elder Hugh B. Brown given in a New Era in 1975 entitled The Currant Bush. I would highly recommend it. I will attach a link to the talk on Gospel Library and also one given by Elder D. Todd Christofferson given in a 2011 General Conference. (There's a video to go with the second talk that helps to see) We went to go and talk with Sr  Bebé buuuut she was too tired to want to do the lesson :( she told us to come back Friday so we scheduled for that. We went and helped Fr. Vence (a member) set up his little shop of clothes so he could get some money. We talked with him for a little bit of differences concerning the catholic church and our church and the jehovas witness church. It was a very interesting conversation haha. Then we went to institute and talked about General Conference and how to prepare ourselves for that even more because it's on Saturday and Sunday. Always a reminder <Go with questions into Conferemce and you will find answer I promise>

Wednesday we had interviews with President Proudfoot. And those days are always some of my most favorite. I get to talk to President Proudfoot and Sœur Proudfoot just me one on one and get their insights and any help that I can. Plus they do them in rooms with AC. We were able to go out to sector and talk with some amis and members. One of the amis we talked with was Frère Andre and we are hoping he comes to church this Sunday to watch conference or we might have to push back his baptism date. But everything happens in the time of the Lord.

Thursday we kinda got stood up by all of our amis. But that didn't stop us from trying so that's what we did. We went out and walked and talked and walked and talked and we sweated and talked and walked. It was really great!

Friday was a day of reminding and preparation for General Conference. We got to talk with a lot of our amis and the members and get people excited to watch conference.

Saturday we went out in the morning because of time differences of Utah and Togo. Then we went to the church after lunch and followed the first session of Saturday. And let me say this, I love our prophet and apostles and all the leaders of the church. They seriously can and do receive revelation for the church and the world and ALL of God's beloved children. I would like to jsut mention something that some of the speakers talked about. If you are able to serve a mission then go and speak with your Bishop, don't delay the day of helping others. And if you are a sister and grave the desire then prepare as well to go. A mission is something that has helped me immensely and I'm not even a year out yet. I know that the council of the leaders if the church to go on a mission is something from our loving Heavenly Father and we all can help to gather Israel here upon the earth.

Sunday we got to watch conference again and I seriously loved it all and we got a temple announced in Congo, Brazzaville!!! I know that's not my mission but it's great that Elders here now have one in their own country.

For my thought this week I don't know how to describe everything. I love our beloved prophet and apostles and I know that they are the mouthpieces of God, our loving Heavenly Father. I invite each of you, myself included, to look back and reflect on what it is that we learned from conference this weekend. I know the Lord has something in plan for each of us.

I love you all!
-Elder Garcia
