Subject: So  long April

I cannot believe we are putting April behind us already. Can you?

How was your week? How are things coming along with your ami’s? What was the best part of this week for you and your companion?

Things here have been low key. It’s been quite nice to be honest. I have enjoyed sleeping in my own bed and having my own pillow each night. For the whole month we will have spent a total of 15 nights away and 15 at home. It has been a month of travel and go go go. So crazy. My computer crashed so I need to go buy a new one but that really is about it as far as ‘big’ news goes.

Tyler and I went to dinner with some friends last night and while I was talking to Amber she was asking about our missionaries. She served in the Ukraine and was talking about how the war pulls at her heart so much even now and it’s been years since she was a missionary. She has a daughter that is Brooklyn’s age. Anyway, she was saying that there are pieces of her mission that she would love to go back and re-do so she said she wanted me to pass on to you that she recommends waking up each day with a plan on your heart of doing anything that the Lord has in mind for you. She says it is easy to think you are already doing that but if you are intentional about acknowledging that you are open to whatever it is He has planned for that day, you will not just see but you will feel a difference in your service as a missionary. I loved that so much and wanted to be sure I passed that on. If it’s something you choose to do I would love to know your experience and what kind of difference it makes.

Chayse Vickers got his mission call this last week. He got called to the Argentina Rosario mission and starts in August. I am unsure if Bryce or Alex have plans to do a mission but as of right now, no calls for them. I’m almost 100% certain Parker is not planning at all.

I put hummingbird feeders out this week. I haven’t seen any quite yet but I am hopeful. I did have my oriole show up and that is fun to have him again. I actually wonder if the blue jays are too territorial and are keeping other birds away. I wonder if they are the reason hummingbirds haven’t come yet and the quails have stayed away too. I’m going to refrain from filling my peanut ring for a bit to see what I end up with. As much as I love the jays and what they represent for me, I miss the rest of the birds enough that maybe I just need to hold memories of jays rather than keep them coming.

I hope you have had a good and productive week. I hope you are happy and learning something new every single day. I love you.
