Subject: It's March
Can you believe it is already March? Holy cow this year is already
flying by. :) How are you? How has your week been? What is new in Africa
these days? How is Elder Meline coming along? Is he teaching lessons
yet or still taking your lead?
Life here was
fine this week. I was happy to see February go but mostly because I am
ready for Spring and Summertime. The weather has been lovely too. We
were in the 70's and Brooklyn was loving being able to be back in the
golf cart again. I had the screen doors open a couple of times and even
my Springtime flowers are starting to pop through the dirt out front. I
won't lie, not complaining one bit. :)
Today
has been different weather wise. It was, according to my weather app on
my phone, supposed to rain all night long. Well, when I was up at 3am
it was not raining one bit nor had it so...you know how that goes. Utah
weather for the win. :/ The wind picked up as Brooklyn and I were out
and about today and the dark clouds were looming but it only sprinkled
barely. I was so confused. The temperature dropped to like high 40's and
I needed a coat again but still not the rain like they had said it
would be. Tyler and I met his friend Charles and his wife Christie at
Fashion Place Mall for dinner and while we were eating the skies opened
up and wowza! Hail started coming down and all of a sudden it was
thundering and the lightning was making the sky look like it was 1pm in
the afternoon. It was nuts! So, I guess instead of rain it decided to
hail snow and now we have more snow coming according to the weather app
and the ksl. I will believe it when I see it. I trust nobody when it
comes to getting anything accurate in regards to weather.
Tomorrow
is fast Sunday already and I have PPI with the Bishop. The first one I
have had in months. In fact, I think in my whole time in this calling I
have only had one PPI meeting. Not effective but it is one less meeting
to plan for so I guess it is a win right? I don't know if B and Tyler
will come to church but we will see. Fast Sunday is a hard one to get
anyone to attend and I can't blame them. Plus, Tyler made a good point
that Riley will probably get up and talk about her first week as a
missionary and how great she is so ... that could always prove to be a
Tammy Bradley moment.
Tyler and I will get
ourselves ready this next week to go to Cabo for our birthday trip and
Grandma is coming in to stay with Brooklyn. I am still unsure of how I
feel about Mexico but the more I worry the closer it gets so I may as
well just wrap my mind around all of it and make the most of it. I am
sure hoping it is a good trip and that it is something we can
incorporate into an annual thing. A 3 hour direct flight is tempting.
Plus get this..we get home on the 15th and the Federal Mask Mandate is
set to expire on the 18th. That means no more masks at airports or on
planes, etc. I am seriously hoping that they don't extend the mandate! I
would love to fly without a stupid mask from here on out. Fingers
crossed. (You can officially go on a cruise now and not have to wear a
mask too!)
Anyways, I hope you have had a good
week and that your ami's are coming along and progressing as you hope. I
hope you have had a chance to find new people to reach out to and to be
able to leave a small dose of good along their way. I pray you are
happy and that you are finding a groove as a missionary and as a
trainer. I hope you have a good day at church and I hope you are able to
see the tender mercies that the Lord blesses you with each day. I love
you.
