Subject: Christmas Vacation...
Hey Elder Garcia!
How the heck are you? How has your week
been? I have absolutely LOVED your photos you put on the drive
throughout the week. What a fun thing to go and check each day and I
love that I get to see your smiling face throughout the week too. :)
Today
was transfer text day yeah? I wondered with your photo you put of the
baptism and your caption if that means you are leaving the area you are
in? Are you staying? What about your companion, Elder Kikwati?
This
week here at home was good. A little busy but not so much that I was
running all over the place you know? We got the carpet all finished up
and bedrooms and family room put back together (it looks so good and the
crinkle sound under your feet and the constant shocking that would
happen is done too!), B had her final ortho evaluation on Thursday (that
was ridiculous and Dr Horsley knew I was beyond ticked by the time he
decided to show up and look at B's teeth), and then we had our Christmas
Vacation party last night here at the house.
So the
ortho...we had a 12:35 appointment. Poor Brooklyn sat in the chair until
almost 1:30 before Dr Horsley arrived to look at her teeth (he was busy
in other booths but not doing ortho work, he was just telling all the
patients and the parents about how he has one more flight to go on and
he gets the next status with Delta...seriously I was fuming). Once he
got to looking he tried to talk small talk with me and I finally said
that we had places to be and I would much rather him just focus on the
appointment we had so we can move on. He tried to apologize and said
"this afternoon is just super busy" so I just said "well maybe next time
you shouldn't schedule so many people at the same time so that
families/parents/patients can actually make plans accordingly." Needless
to say, by the time we left (just after 2pm btw) I was beyond ticked
and it is a good thing we have one more appointment is all with them. I
will never refer anyone to his office just strictly out of the arrogance
that exists within. Her teeth are beautiful but horrible experience
with the staff and overall feel of the offfice. Don't tell her I told
you but she gets her braces off on the 15th and she is so freaking
excited. :) She has had them on since 5th grade so I don't blame her one
bit at all.
Our party on Friday was fun. I wasn't overly
excited when I looked at the confirmed list of who all was coming but
we ran with it and in the end, it was a total blast. None of the Riddles
showed up (shocker I know), Jaime didn't come because Banning was at
the station, the Millers were there and of course, amazing. The rest was
the ward members (you can see in the photo) and it actually went well.
Lots of visiting, lots of laughing, Tyler busted out Telestrations and
between the Vickers and Jason Teerlink I have never laughed so much or
so hard at the same time! It was a good time. Everyone left just after
11 except the Millers who are rockstars. They stayed and washed every
dish, put everything away, and even hand dried dishes while Tyler and I
put them away. Seriously the best kind of friends. So grateful for them.
Tyler and I finally climbed into bed just before 2am. :/
Today
I had to be at the church to set up a table representing our ward for a
Stake Relief Society activity at 8am. I was EXHAUSTED but I threw a hat
on and called it good. Then I came home and we have just been hanging. I
had a disgustingly dirty floor (adults are as bad as kids sometimes I
think) so I cleaned those, got my laundry going, B had Cutler over for a
bit, Tyler was in and out, and then I made some cookies to take to
Logan tomorrow. They are throwing a surprise birthday celebration for
Reed at Kristina's so we will drive up there for a couple of hours. B
opted to stay home (lucky her) and I thought it would be fun to try some
new cutters out. I threw away my first batch because they were not good
so now my 2nd batch is cooling so I can frost them. Lame. Probably
because I am just tired you know?
Anyways, I get to go to
the dentist on Monday at 8:30am my time, I have a laser hair removal
appointment on Wednesday, Charli gets herself a haircut on Thursday,
Friday is so far so good with nothing, and then I am taking Katherine
Chelius to a cookie class with Natalie on Saturday. Just a girls day, a
reason for her to get out of her house, and I like hanging with her so
it should be fun.
I am excited to hear about your week
and all the fun from the images. I am interested in learning about why
you had a pot of water on your head... :) but I also can't wait to hear
about your baptism and your transfer situation as well. :) Everyone here
says hello and I even got a text from Alison's Mom this last week
asking how you are. Alison keeps in touch with Brooklyn and is so kind
to always let her know that if Brooklyn ever wants to go get an ice
cream or something that she would be happy to do that. So super nice.
I
love love you. Hoping you have the best Sunday ever and that you know
how proud I am of you. Keep doing all the amazing work you are doing. We
have you in our prayers always. I love you for forever,
