Subject: Big Projects
Happy end of the week finally! How are you? How was your week? What
are you hearing, if anything, about this new Covid variant that is
coming from South Africa?
The week here
was blah....a lot of work but blah. I had an appointment for some botox
earlier and then knew that I needed to pick up pies from Kneaders and B
also had a dermatologist appointment so she could start her Accutane
prescription. Other than that it was kind of up in the air as far as
what else could fill in the blanks. I knew going into the weekend that
we would have to tackle the basement and empty everything and pull
carpet out but I wasn't entirely sure when the plan to do that was.
Haul
the stuff out of the two bedrooms started on Tuesday. Tyler pulled
carpet and pad up on Wednesday and then we tackled the living room on
Friday. It is going to be so freaking nice to not hear the crinkle under
your feet when you walk anymore! And it will be sure great to have
matching carpet throughout the house. We have furniture literally
everywhere including outside under the deck. They will arrive Monday to
start and hopefully have it done by end of day on Tuesday. I have an
adult Christmas party on Friday here so that means that I have a crap
ton of work ahead of me to get the basement sorta put back together
before people are here. I have decided if anything I will just close
doors and maybe focus on putting life back together after the new year
even...we will see what happens. I am sorta wishing we would have done
it after the first of the year but instead we will do the basement now
and then have them do the cabin after the first of the year.
Thanksgiving
was weird this year. Maybe not weird, just different. I was up super
early. I couldn't really sleep all that well so I decided instead of
laying there I would get up. Tyler has asked for his Mom's rolls the
last couple of years and this year I got the recipe and gave them a go. I
started those first and then moved onto other things to get ready. By
the time the eggs were boiled and peeled and I was going to get the
filling done for deviled eggs, it was actually time to get the turkey
in. I tried to find the smallest one I could but it still ended up being
19lbs. That was so much for the 3 of us! While dinner was cooking and
before I could start on a few other dishes, I worked on some cookies and
just hung out. Brooklyn came down and hung out for a bit but she was
kinda loving the slow pace of the day too so she was upstairs and then
down. Tyler was 'off'. Like he normally gets on holidays without his
kids. I would have happily invited them but I don't have any contact
information and it certainly isn't something he willingly would share so
I have to be okay with that. I did finally tell him though that I love
this time of year and I am not going to put up with ho hummy Tyler
because of choices he made so if he was going to be like this throughout
the next month then I was going to plan stuff and just not invite him. I
am sure he was angry and upset but he seemed to listen and so I am
hoping and praying that the next month will be great. :) Fingers
crossed!
Tyler and I went to see a show about
the Gucci family Thursday night. Brooklyn was not interested in it at
all so she stayed home and I think in the end she made the best choice. I
was so tired. So so tired. And the movie kind of drug on for what felt
like forever. So by the time it was over at 10:30pm....I was done for
the day. I had been up since almost 5am and I just wanted to call it a
night.
Friday I considered going black
Friday shopping but opted instead to stay home. Tyler and I ran to the
Home Depot and got stuff to scrape the ground downstairs with to get the
remaining pieces of padding off the concrete and then we grabbed a
shake from Chic Fil A. That was it for the shopping for me outside. I
did a little on some apps and on the internet web but mostly I am done
so there isn't much need to go looking.
Today
was another early wake up day. I don't know what my deal is! I was SO
behind on my Instagram for my chatbooks so I sat in my office chair and
caught up on posting so that I can get my end of year stuff finalized. I
think I filled almost 3 new chatbooks to be printed and shipped. So
crazy! The Elf of the Shelf are back and I want to be sure to capture
this year on that too so I didn't want to get even further behind.
It
is weird to have the Elfs here. They are not as fun as they used to be
and I don't even think Brooklyn goes looking for them. She left her shoe
out and that was weird. I actually almost cried a little. One
shoe...and she wasn't sure she really even wanted to do that. Anyways,
it is just so different than what it is when you have little littles
around during this year. I miss it and then in the next breath I sure
don't. :) Double edged sword! Ha.
Anyways,
I won't bore you any longer with what is (or isn't) going on here but I
wanted to jump on while I had a moment. Tyler is out in the garage and B
is with Cutler so I had a minute to myself. :) I love you oodles and I
am so proud of what you are doing right now. I am excited to hear from
you on Monday. Have the best rest of your Saturday and have the best day
tomorrow at church.
I love you for forever,
Mom
