Week 1 Email: The District Season 3?

Subject: The District Season 3?

Salut à tous! Comment vas-tu? 

And so the journey of a lifetime began. I am so excited to be able to bring you along this journey with me as we travel through zoom classes and through planes and, hopefully, end up in west Africa. 

This past week, if you can even call it that (3 days), has been absolutely incredible! The MTC at home can be a little challenging but I know that through the spirit of the Lord I will be able to get through it and I will be able to learn what it is that I am needed to. My district, R28-B (kinda sounds like the name of a droid), is so much fun. We are all elders and it's 7 of us so there's a trio for companions. I'm not part of that but I bet it's pretty cool. My companion is Elder Kempe, he hails from the far off shore of Bountiful, Utah, so that's pretty hype. I am the younger companion and in fact I'm the youngest in my district but that just means that I have loads to learn from the rest of the elders and I can't wait!

Just a little thought for ya this week:

the Lord is with you always. I was reading in the Doctrine and Covenants section 6 and a couple of scriptures stood out to me

D&C 6:36

36 Look unto me in every thought doubt not fear not

D&C 6:22-23 

22 Verily, verily, I say unto you, if you desire a further witness, cast you mind upon the night that you cried unto me in your heart, that you might know concerning the truth of these things.

23 Did I not speak peace to your mind concerning the matter? What greater witness can you have than from God?

These scriptures are so powerful! The Lord is with us at all times. He will be there to answer our prayers and any questions that we might have. I know that as we look to Him with an open mind, humble heart, and contrite spirit that He will bring us peace and love. We have no reason to doubt nor to fear Him and His wonderful work.
