Week 8 Email: We Made It

Subject: We Made It

Holy cow you guys!! That was the longest flight of my life, I don't know how people do that all of the time. On Thursday I flew out of SLC the  to LA where I got held up for a second with covid stuff (dumb) and then went to Paris. So technically I could say I've been there haha. Then I was off to Lomé, and when I got here that was a whole other thng in itself that was just great hahah. My companion is named Elder Obeya, he's from Congo and he doesn't speak a lick of English so that's fun... not really. But that means I get to fully embrace French now and I feel better about it before. I still have a LONG ways to go though. We met with 2 amis yesterday and they were so cool! I understood very little but they were nice to me and let me struggle a little bit. We also met with a sister who just got baptized and I got to bear my testimony and I felt that it was the right thing that I needed to say. That leads me into this weeks spiritual thought:

I know that the Lord guides us to be in the places He wangs us to be and that He is with us always when we accept Him and His commandments. I know that He is helping me but will only do so if I put in my efforts.
